I am happy that we all all friends. In celebration let me offer a poem:

There were two boys from Lower Milford
Who thought an election could be pilfered
Spending money would ensure their fate
Even though they would not debate
But the voters saw through their plan
And dispatched them with élan
Neither boy will be a supervisor
But they will be older and wiser.

Unlike Slyfox my English Lit Prof would not be proud for the only thing I remember from his course is John Donne -- For God's sake hold your tongue, and let me love. But I have remembered a ditty I learned at a frat during that time

The Boy stood on a burning deck
Wishing he never been born
His mother said you wouldn't have son
If the rubber hadn't torn.

Who can account for the mind of an engineer?

Rick first let me apologize if you feel as though I offended you in some way, for that was not my intent. I am very sorry. Sometimes my passion for my township pours out before my fingers catch up to what I am saying. Ed, thank you for your defense for you hit the nail on the head. I am sure we all have read the literature that is on-line and also tossed in our mailboxes and it makes a good read if nothing else. By “newbies” I actually meant those complaining about the current BOS that somehow, someway is being blamed for all their problems. Silly.

When I first built my tiny little home here I was told I couldn’t do many things but did I cry, scream and throw tantrums because of it? No, I did not. I am a grown adult who knows sometimes you can’t do what you want. I don’t like it but that’s why we have ordinances and rules so this township can stay in the bucolic nature of which it currently is. It angers me when newer and sometimes younger people come here to build their $500,000+ houses and think that gives them to right to push others around. It needs to be addressed and held in check.

Besides, with more literature arriving this past Saturday, the situations with some of the families causing a rift became clearer. They certainly only gave 1/3 of the story of their situation. Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

The BOS makes decisions based on everyone in the township not just a select few for their own benefit. I don’t like all the rules and regulations either but they are in place to benefit everyone. After all, what would happen if we all just blew through the stop signs or stop lights because we just didn’t feel like it? Keeping Lower Milford the quiet, beautiful and serene area it is now is a very hard job. Progress? Sure, but slowly and carefully. We need to protect what we ALL have.

I know many families who have moved here within the past 5 years and they are the nicest, kindest people and am glad they are in my neighborhood. Especially when they invite me over for grilled steaks! So Rick, again I profusely apologize and never meant any harm. Please accept my apologies if I have offended you.

PS – Ed –“poet laureate”? My English Lit Doc would be proud!

I have been here 35 years -- still a newbie. There is also a differentiation of those on either side of the turnpike. However, I have found that a label doesn't really matter. There will always be areas where a "newbie" is not really expected to express ideas for change or how better to maintain the status quo. But, as in every community, most people are good solid citizens. When engaged in common interests or causes, you are part of the community. Step on a sacred cow, and you are a newbie for the moment. In defense of Slyfox --potentially our poet laureate-- she said many newbies, obviously excluding you & I.

Lower Milford is a great place that has a farming heart and a rural soul. If you liked what you saw, you will like living here. From one newbie to another, welcome.

SlyFox,
I'm a newbie, and like some other newbies I met, we're here because we like what we saw. As a whole, I think your wrong about us wanting to transform LM into NJ or any other state for that matter. I've noticed on the retore lower milford blog that there is some resentment towards us newbies. I wonder how long it takes for one not to be a newbie and to be considered a part of the community. At least my neighbors made myself and my family feel welcomed, and for that I'm grateful.

There once was a duo that lied
So often that everyone cried
We hope that it comes true
We can cross off these two
And banish the unqualified

For if we don’t keep ourselves sane
From incoming trouble and pain
Our lives will upheave
And sorrow will leave
A huge nasty scar on the grain…..

Hopefully on Tuesday, those that know the bottom truth will do the good thing and take out those that want harm to come to us all. Supervisors should make decisions based on the township as a whole - not just for a few that will benefit. Sadly, too many "newbies" want to change things. I thought they left New Jersey to get away from that mess and now they bring it here.

Cry baby cry
Stick your finger in your eye
Tell you momma it was I
Cry baby cry.

This year's primary elections seem to be unprecedented in the amount of money spent and misinformation. The Truth in Lower Milford tab tries to present factual information of the claims on the candidates. This election pits the incumbents Mike Snovitch and Donna Wright against the the new candidates Ted Zapach and Jeff Tapler. As such the claims and counter claims normally are issued by incumbents (Incumbents) as a team and Team Lower Milford as a grouping of the challengers.

We rate the various claims and statements for the candidates brochures, statements in terms of how they conform with the facts. The rating is in Pinacchio's.

0 -- statement is true as stated by the candidtaes

1 Pinacchio -- Basically accurate with slight misrepresentation

2 Pinacchios - Basically accurate with some misrepresentation

3 Pinacchios -- A mix of accurate & misrepresented information

4 Pinacchios -- Mostly misreprestation of facts with slight true information

5 Pinacchios -- Completely misrepresented data. (A true Pinacchio award)

Each item we analyze is rated for the two group of candidates. If anyone disagrees with our analysis, they can add a comment to this area which will also be fact checked.

A true democracy is one based on an educated public voting for their choice. Hopefully, Pinocchio will help in deciding who is truthful and would serve Lower Milford Township best.

Very good analysis of current condition and potential loss of Lovely Meadows Today. The grasshoppers are being led by those who are NOT visionaries with a positive outcome but self serving Pests. The ants have continued to work and devote their time and energies for the LMT colony.

I wonder if the grasshoppers truly understand the importance of ants:

1. Worker Ants life expectancy is twice that of the grasshoppers (60 days compared to 30 days)

2. Worker Ants have two stomachs one to feed themselves and one to feed others.

3. Worker Ants as a colony work to carry 20 times their weight of rubbish out of the nest and keep pristine. Where a swarm of grasshoppers might cause severe damage to crops.

4. Worker Ants help their feathered friends by a liquid they squirt that kills parasites that infest. The grasshoppers major role to the effective functioning of our ecosystem is by being eaten and used by predators like rodents and lizards.

Here's to the ants! May they continue to work for Lovely Meadows Today!
